What is AIFC
The Astana International Financial Centre, a special zone with its own law, where crypto exchanges are licensed by the AFSA regulator.
The AIFC was set up in 2018. It applies law based on English common law and has its own court.
International crypto exchanges open their Kazakh entities in the AIFC. This is a separate regime from the National Bank of Kazakhstan license for exchangers.
