What is Custodial wallet

A wallet where a company, not the user, holds the keys. In a non-custodial wallet only you hold them.

An exchange account or a built-in messenger wallet is usually custodial: convenient, but the company can freeze funds.

In a non-custodial wallet you fully control the funds but are responsible for the seed phrase. For large amounts a non-custodial or cold wallet is safer.
